Structured cabling done right — the first time
When it comes to network cabling in Cape Town, a poor installation causes problems for years. Unlabelled cables, wrong categories, untidy runs, and no documentation mean every future IT change becomes a frustrating guessing game.
iPrism installations are planned before a single cable is pulled. Every point is labelled, every run is documented, and the finished job looks professional — whether it’s behind a patch panel or visible in the office. All network points are tested and verified before we hand over.
We deliver Cat6 copper cabling for offices across the Cape — from small SMB fit-outs to new developments and full office renovations. Our work covers network points, patch panels, cable management, voice and data cabling, and wireless access point installation.
We work in offices across Somerset West, Strand, Gordon’s Bay, Stellenbosch, Bellville, Durbanville, Paarl, and the broader Western Cape.

Why the quality of your cabling installation matters
Structured cabling is the foundation of your entire network. A poor installation — wrong cable category, loose terminations, unlabelled runs — will cause intermittent faults, slow speeds, and hours of troubleshooting for years afterward.
Cheap cabling jobs cut corners where you can’t see them. We don’t.
iPrism installations are done to spec, documented properly, and built to support your network for the next 10 to 15 years.
Common questions about network cabling
Cat5e supports speeds up to 1Gbps and is suitable for most small business environments. Cat6 supports up to 10Gbps and is recommended for new installations where future-proofing matters. We'll advise which is right for your environment.
A good rule of thumb is at least one network point per workstation, plus additional points for printers, IP phones, wireless access points, and any shared equipment. We assess your layout during the site visit and recommend the right number based on how your team actually works — not just the minimum. It's always cheaper to install extra points during the initial job than to add them later.
Wireless is convenient but it has real limitations in a business environment — bandwidth is shared, interference causes dropouts, and performance degrades with more users. A wired Cat6 network delivers consistent, reliable speeds for every device, every time. Wireless access points themselves need a wired backhaul connection to perform properly. The best office networks use cabling as the backbone with wireless layered on top for mobile devices.
Not usually. We work around your schedule and can install outside business hours where needed to minimise disruption.
Installation time depends on the size and complexity of the job. A small office with a handful of points can often be completed in a day. Larger or more complex installations are scoped individually and quoted with a realistic timeline upfront. We'll always give you a clear timeframe before work begins.
We visit the site, assess the job, and provide a written quote before any work begins. No surprises.
